So cute!!
This event was so adorable last night, that I'm pretty sure afterwards a Care Bear was born somewhere! We have been lazy and haven't taken down the air mattress from when Mom and Aunt Peggy stayed the night last weekend...because look at the good use it's been getting! Casey is not in these pictures because when I tried to coax him into the cuteness he started getting hives and couldn't breathe. Brinkley touched him and he hauled ass to the nearest shower to rid his precious fur of the icky snuggly niceness.

Exceptional News!!
Sweet Nikki is back home already...didn't even have to stay the night at the vet's office. As you can see, she looks more like the bride of Frankenstein more than a pup. I'm still scared to touch her because there's no safe place. She has 7 wounds. One is her ear where they had to cut out a hematoma and the other 5 are places where she had small and large sebaceous cysts removed and one lipoma (fatty) cyst. Things like that are fairly common on Schnauzers. She has a lot of stitches! She has NO CANCER though! The one the vet was worried about turned out to be the fatty cyst, so we were so relieved. Nik has some pain pills and antibiotics and is doing fine. Tonight we have to decide how we are going to situate all of the wildebeests tomorrow...probably Nikki will be sequestered in part of the kitchen by herself while we're at work so that she can't jump up and down off the bed or have someone mess with her stitches while we are gone. That could be a big, gross mess! BLAH!
I feel so much better! Just worn out. After the Art show is over, I know I'm going to rest very well this weekend! :)

Happy Birthday Nikki!

Seems like I was just writing Nikki's birthday post for last year! Ever since it turned April, things have seemed like they've come back around so soon. Did last year even happen at all?!
My sweet Nikki, affectionately known as 'Noo-Noo around here, turns 10 today. It's hard to believe I've done anything for 10 years straight, but I've definitely loved and taken care of her for 10 years now. Time flies when you're having fun, that's a definite.
Tomorrow Nikki goes in for surgery to have all her little lumps and bumps removed and be tested for cancer. For whatever reason, I couldn't bear to do it before her birthday. Please send positive thoughts her way, she's been a toughie in the past with a surgery here and there, so I hope we continue on that streak. Julie is the tough one when it comes to the dogs and will be dropping her off before she goes to work and I have told her to absolutely NOT tell me any sort of news until I get home---in case they find out something right away. It will probably be a couple of days though if they are doing biopsies.
I'll be so glad when it's all over, because anytime I've had a quiet moment to think this week, it's brought me down.

Daily Cuteness
I should have a section like Dooce has where she does the 'Daily Chuck' which now includes the 'Daily Cocoa.' I know Casey doesn't get a lot of photo time and that's not because he's unloved but because he avoids the camera like the plague. And naturally, these are Lucy's first pics, so she gets the most time! :)
