Missed Her Ride To Bloomingdale's

This evening when Julie was letting the dogs in from outside a butterfly whizzed by her head flying into the house. It instantly made me think of "You've Got Mail" where Meg Ryan talks about the butterfly flying into the subway car and how she probably was going to Bloomingdale's to buy a hat, which will be a mistake.

"Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one. It got on at 42nd, and off at 59th, where, I assume it was going to Bloomingdale's to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake - as almost all hats are."

One of the many quotes I love from that movie---not quite as much as a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils...but almost.

I assume since dinner was cooking that our butterfly wanted to be invited in for dinner and since we were so rude as to not invite her, she took it upon herself just to join us anyway. This was definitely a mistake, because she almost became a treat for Lucy.

Recent Happenings In Pictures

The red is right on the money, looks like yummy jolly rancher candy and will eventually be for the guest bathroom floor. The hot pink for the kitchen backsplash is a difficult one, maybe just not hot pink enough--but nobody has what I'm looking for.
We went to the fabric store in Macon last night and bought these magnificent fabrics for some upcoming projects.

We also thought it would be fun to visit the Salvation Army there to find some nifty props..didn't find any but Julie was as giddy as a kid with a lollipop when she found these records for $.50...she bought them for her nephew Chad who collects records.

I have to say, while the movie was exciting and good, I just can't get into Christian Bale as Batman. I strongly, strongly dislike him as Batman. I HATE the way he tries to make his voice sound like the sexy, deep Batman voice---he goes over the top with it and just sounds like he needs a Halls cough drop! George Clooney, now there's a perfect Batman...SEXY. Also this being the only comic book series movie/character I've ever gotten into (must be the rubber suit and misfit bad guys!) it's important to me that they pay homage to the old school 80's-90's Batman movies. For instance---they are trying to go darker for these Batman movies and while the Joker came off as evil-maniacal--we felt like he didn't do the crazy Joker laugh quite enough. Oh well, that's the problem with re-making something sometimes. Gotta take the good with the bad.

The Weekend

Juliebean and I went to Atlanta this weekend...first we saw Sarah and Lindsey and dropped Sarah's painting off I did for her about this time last year but have never gotten up there to her.

Then we were going to IKEA, but we first decided to go to the Decatur Arts Festival and spend some money we didn't need to spend on some cool Art! Most of the time I'd rather buy other people's Art than make my own---I'm not really sure of the reason for that--except maybe for the ease of it and not being tormented about whether I'm happy with my finished product or not!

We also ate tasty grilled chicken Caesar salads from Moxie Java and then later got gelato...this time I got pink grapefruit and Julie got strawberry. Very tasty.

How nice of Julie to surprise me coming out of a porta-potty...this is what one's face would look like at the shock that someone is snapping your picture while walking out of the nastiest thing you can thing of! I will only go inside one if I'm seriously about to pee on myself.


We're SUPER stoked about the two prints we bought from Big World Photo photographer Lorri Honeycutt--Her stuff is awesome! She uses a macro lens to photograph tiny, plastic people in real life scenes. Her booth was booming and you could barely escape bumping into someone as you were trying to see all of the prints---you can see why, they are neat! It was hard to narrow our choices, but we didn't want to have to sell the house to afford the Art! Check out her website, you'll probably find some you love as well. We bought these two:

Yesterday we cleaned house/cut grass/watched videos and enjoyed being at home. We watched these two movies...enjoyed them both.


We liked "P.S. I love you" better than "Into The Wild." "P.S. I love you" had a lot of humor and sap in it, but enough sap that we both felt like we needed to go in search of someone's happy pills after watching it---kinda like when we watched "The Notebook" and could have cried/been suicidal for days. Intense. The premise of the movie was really amazing though, to receive love notes from the person you loved more than anyone in the world after they had died...I won't say anymore, but I thought it was done perfectly. And no, I didn't read either book beforehand. :)

Friday Night Video Review

Both were amazing! Both made us laugh and cry (but it's highly possible that we were just being hormonal). "Feast of Love" was SO good...better than I even thought it would be. It's like a more modern day "Steel Magnolias" sort of. If you loved that movie, I'm sure you will enjoy "Feast of Love." I recommend watching it with whomever you love most in the world. It was so sweet. Morgan Freeman needs to be my grandpa! :) (Oh yeah, don't watch it with kids that you don't want seeing sex or nudity!)

"Little Miss Sunshine" cracked us up and had some tender moments too where you just felt so badly for various characters. The first time they pushed the Volkswagon bus we could not stop laughing!! That one is definitely a movie you should see as well.

Mom gave us "Feast of Love" so you could borrow my copy, but the other is a Netflix.
