More From The Creek

Here are more pictures from the Creek and Mill ruins...there aren't any photos of the trail once it got a little treacherous...we were mostly focused on staying alive at that point and less on picture taking! ;) We did realize just how badly in shape we are once it got to the point where we were practically crawling over the rocks! 3 miles feel longer apparently when you are struggling to get up a hill of rocks! However, it was so much fun exploring and being outside and so beautiful, that we plan to visit as many of the GA State Parks (the ones with more to see than just a lake) as possible. We're looking forward to it and plan to get our legs and ankles in better shape before attempting the more difficult park trails. Sweetwater Creek State Park allowed dogs there and it was pretty cool to see Golden Retrievers playing in the water and other dogs walking along the easier trails with their owners. We might take the wildebeests there one day too!
One note about the Home Depot stores in that particular area...they suck royally! Apparently people slightly North of Atlanta don't care too much about home improvement...they probably pay someone to do it for them. We tried one Home Depot in Lithia Springs where the park is, they didn't have what we needed...when we drove over to the Home Depot in the neighboring town of Austell, we wondered why in the world only two cars would be in the parking lot at 6pm. That was because all of the windows and doors were boarded up for some sort of remodeling. Lowes was conveniently located across the street, but go figure--they didn't have the right ceiling tiles either for my bulletin boards...so, we just skipped all of the other Home Depots and Lowes between there and home and decided to stick with the old faithful--McDonough Home Depot! We did finally find what we needed! Woohoo!

Hey Girls.....Believe it or not...when I was a young girl, my grandfather took his grandkids riding along Sweetwater Creek....It's a beautiful area....The tree you were leaning on was probably just a baby sapling way back then, but the memory of the creek if vivid in my mind....It is truly a beautiful place....Lee

Those are some good photos on both entries. I did lesson plans all day today and ate lunch with my husband. I think you might have had more fun. :) I have never been to that park before, we might just have to go visit soon...and by soon I mean in the spring because of an impending birth.

We always have issues with home depot. :( I still get paint there though. Your photos are very pretty. Much prettier than Ohio right now.

See look...I'm catching up on all your blogs! :) I took engagement pics at Sweetwater several months ago--really pretty place. Your photos are great...glad you're not the competition!
